The Indians AL record-setting 22-game winning streak ended on Friday night. It was a great streak that I honestly didn't think we'd see in my lifetime. The A's 20-game streak in 2001 seemed out of reach; with all the parity in today's MLB, I just didn't think it would happen again. Thank you, Cleveland.
The only team that stands ahead of the Indians is the 1916 New York Giants. They won 26 in a row, from September 7 to September 30. However, they did have a tie in the middle of the streak. I'd still say they're number two, but the 2017 Indians have a pretty solid case for being the best baseball winning streak ever.
Here are the New York Times front pages from the day both streaks ended.

Baseball is here! And more importantly, that means the over/under game is back. It seems as though everyone is an expert this time of year. Somehow we convince ourselves that we are better at predicting baseball outcomes than everyone else. Well, AFITB is putting that to the test for the third year in a row. Think you know more about baseball than us? You probably do. But go ahead and prove it anyway.
