If my math is correct, this is day 50 of the 2017 baseball season. Because I've committed to blogging daily this year, that also makes this post my 50th of the season. It's been a wild ride so far; thanks for reading! If you're curious, my five most popular posts so far have been:
- How Bad Were the 1962 Mets?
- Baseball is Back: How long is its offseason compared to other sports?
- The "Maddux": Tanaka throws the first of 2017
- Happy Birthday John
- Aaron Judge Is Enormous (and so are these other baseball players)
Debuting before the 2015 season, this website/podcast is in its third year of existance. As I prepared for episode 94 of the podcast (subscribe) this morning, my mind started to reflect on that stretch of time as a whole instead of as three separate seasons. That led me to a small research project: how many total wins does each team have in the AFITB era? See the results below.

Baseball is here! And more importantly, that means the over/under game is back. It seems as though everyone is an expert this time of year. Somehow we convince ourselves that we are better at predicting baseball outcomes than everyone else. Well, AFITB is putting that to the test for the third year in a row. Think you know more about baseball than us? You probably do. But go ahead and prove it anyway.
