The second Summer Flick of the season airs tonight, A Talent for the Game. Based on the trailer and its Wikipedia page, we're in for a treat. The movie took the world by storm, bringing in a whopping $336,396 at the box office after its debut on New Years Day 1991.
The movie centers on a young pitching prospect by the name of Sammy Bodeen. Veteran scout Virgil Sweet discovers the phenom when his car breaks down in a small, rural town. By all accounts from the trailer, it appears Bodeen has a standard windup—the classic over-the-head motion. For today's post, I want to look at my favorite unconventional pitching motions. Here are my top 10.
Clayton Kershaw
Greg Maddux
Sandy Koufax
Johnny Cueto
Satchel Paige
Randy Johnson
Chad Bradford
Juan Marichal
Fernando
Rowengartner
I'll give an honorable mention to this guy.
Baseball is here! And more importantly, that means the over/under game is back. It seems as though everyone is an expert this time of year. Somehow we convince ourselves that we are better at predicting baseball outcomes than everyone else. Well, AFITB is putting that to the test for the third year in a row. Think you know more about baseball than us? You probably do. But go ahead and prove it anyway.
