As less and less people buy into cable packages, layoffs at ESPN seemed inevitable. But I don't think anyone saw today coming. Among the 100 staffers let go was the venerable Jayson Stark. He'll never read this, but we wish Jayson well on his next chapter; we'll continue reading his work no matter where he lands.
Even as sports like football and basketball have joined the analytics revolution in recent years, I still have the sense that baseball is the thinking —and woman's—game.
